πŸ”§ MACHINE GUIDANCE

πŸ€– THE MACHINE

Jarred "The Machine" Henson

Welding Β· keder rails Β· electrical Β· water systems

A master electrician's kid. Introduced to David on the 7/16 sync β€” they clicked instantly β€” on-site at Phoenix Gulch the week of 7/20 and again on 7/28, when the shower ran and the trailer became a machine. His name appears in transcripts as Jarrett (7/16 meeting) and Jared (7/28 footage) β€” same human. This window is how a camp actually gets built: weld by weld, valve by valve.

🏷️ The Naming β€” and the shower RUNS

"When a bunch of computer nerds fail, you just bring in the experts like Jared the Machine."

Nineteen seconds of pure victory: water flowing through the shower the Machine plumbed β€” and the moment the camp gave him his name. The perfect opener for this window.

⚑ The Trailer, Machinified

IMG_4624.MOV Β· 2026-07-28 17:42 UTC Β· 118.7 seconds
"The machine turned the trailer into a machine."

The Machine's electrical walkthrough of the camp's kitchen trailer β€” an annotated tour:

  • Transfer switch β€” panel ↔ battery, with a generator kill ("you don't want to use Jenny anymore… we can kill that")
  • Panel power β€” labeled switch position, running off the channel
  • Battery power β€” click over, lights come on
  • Charge points β€” USB and USB-C, phone-friendly
  • 16 outlets throughout the entire trailer β€” plug anything in
  • 30 amps on both sides β€” "this can be a whole house"

PART 3 Β· WATER

πŸ’§ The Water Loop, taught end to end

IMG_4626.MOV Β· 2026-07-28 18:37 UTC Β· 150.2 seconds Β· feat. Victor ("Victory!")

A complete lesson, start to finish β€” this clip doubles as camp-ops documentation for the water and shower domains. The Machine teaches the full greywater loop:

  • IBC coupler β€” wrap the threads with tape, screw on, tighten with channel locks
  • Cam-lock β€” slides right on; "that's all set"
  • Transfer pump β€” plug in; the pump immediately turns on, pushing water through the orange line
  • To the kitchen β€” pumped all the way around
  • Jeremy's foot switch β€” step on it, water jumps into the greywater line
  • Greywater float switch β€” tank fills, float activates the sump pump
  • Shower basin float switch β€” basin fills, float activates, water pumps back to the greywater tank. Loop closed. ♻️
"I have slow comprehensions. That's why I recorded that β€” but really appreciate you, Machine!" β€” and then, on camera: "What's your name again?" β€” "Victor!" β€” "Victory!"

PART 4 Β· THE MIND

🧠 The Mind of The Machine

meeting-transcripts/2026-07-16-david-sync.md Β· Jarrett Henson, primary speaker Β· his introduction to David + infrastructure Q&A

Before he touched a single weld, the Machine interviewed the systems. From the 7/16 sync β€” how he thinks:

"David, can I ask about valves and the pump? Is the pump always on? If not, how does it turn on β€” and how does that interact with valves at each termination point?" [18:55]
"You gotta understand, I'm a master electrician's kid. Okay β€” so you're telling me we got a 70-amp 5-gauge running to a 15-amp 4-outlet?" [27:57]
"When I was talking to Keith, there was a discussion about two different termination points for the water β€” one interior faucet for the kitchen, one exterior spigot." [15:51]
David, after the Q&A: "The picture that's in your head is the one that's in my head… I'm going to lean on you a lot." [40:31] β€” the trust moment. Twelve days later, the shower ran.

Honesty note: meeting speaker labels come from the call recorder and are occasionally mis-attached β€” quotes here were verified against context. Full transcript: 2026-07-16-david-sync.md (+ Jade's notes). Photos: none confirmed to feature the Machine β€” the 7/20 shower-cut photos and 7/21 custom-hose photo document work from his on-site week, attribution unconfirmed. PART 5 Β· POWER Β· NEW 8/1

πŸ”Œ The Power Curriculum β€” solar, generator, grid

IMG_4710 / 4711 / 4715 / 4716 Β· 2026-08-01 party-eve session Β· ~11 min total Β· πŸ”§ watch in Machine Guidance

The evening before the party, the trailer got its full power curriculum β€” three independent ways to keep the lights on and the food prepped. A masterclass in redundancy:

  • Solar generator (Anker SOLIX) β€” the trailer-to-generator attachment cable runs to the 4-prong transfer switch. Panel power vs battery, main switches on, battery switch OFF unless needed. "This generator is going to run this panel."
  • Predator gas generator (fallback) β€” kill the solar, transfer switch off, four-prong straight into the Predator's red receptacle, twist-lock. "You just start it and plug it in. It's ready to go."
  • David's camp grid β€” the cable labeled in tape "David power to kitchen": 70A camp panel split into four duplex boxes, runs off a regular plug. Simulated live with the Anker's AC button.
  • The battery drill β€” power out? Flip to battery, light comes on, keep prepping food. "These are repeatable systems β€” so we have backups in a worst case… we can still meet our obligations to the camp."
  • And when it doesn't work? β€” "I don't know why. This is why we troubleshoot." The curriculum includes the debugging, on camera.
"We can charge our batteries and make sure we have some reserve before we leave β€” so these lights work, so we can still prep food and still meet our obligations to the camp."

Teacher confirmed: The Machine β€” IMG_4709 opens with "We got The Machine leading the team." Same session, same teacher, full curriculum. 🐒

The Build Trail

The build in clips β€” the Tool Maker session, the veggie coffin walls, the semi arriving, the shower cut, the day the water ran. Demo-heavy and speech-light by nature; honesty badges mark the silent and the speechless. NEW 8/1: the party-eve masterclass β€” The Machine leading the team through hitches, power, spares, and camlocks. The gold is what's shown.
